2022 Stewardship Report
A letter from the president and CEO
Robert Nogaj
For nearly 80 years, the foundation of our company has been on our people, innovation, and creativity to help make facilities “cleaner, safer, and more productive”. This analogy is core to our existence. Together with our employees we look to “Transform Opportunity into Action”. As we strive to build a future for the next generation, we have embarked on the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) journey, a program we have named Martin Stewardship. This initiative ties closely to our Why Statement - “We ignite Excellence so that Families Thrive and Communities Flourish”
Through our innovative products and our manufacturing efficiency, we have created partnerships with our customers helping them to reduce spillage, noise and pollution in their facilities. In addition to our products, we provide training programs through our Foundations™ Learning Center. Within this Learning Center, our customers can download an E-book or learn via online or live classes and monthly webinars all of which promote more efficient bulk material handling. Our detailed Safety Book also is a key reference for many customers and experts in the industry.
From the beginning of our family business, it has been in our DNA to support the communities where we are located. With Stewardship, we look to be even better community partners in the 19 locations where we are located, through outreach and looking for ways to help promote sustainability. As a preferred employer, we look to promote employee well-being, with competitive compensation, a safe work environment, superb benefits, and development opportunities. We give a helping hand to those in need whether it be helping an employee with an emergency, helping a neighboring community effected by flood, or contributing to a water tower for cleaner water. Through Martin’s support, we work hand in hand with our employees who volunteer countless hours to help their community partners.
Our continued success depends on our employees and utilizing our knowledge and products to collaborate with our customers to improve their processes as well as our own. As 2023 draws near, we will be utilizing what we have learned in our current state to establish metrics to continue our journey of Stewardship.
